UPDATE - Community Open Sports Day 2010! - Poster here!!
This years Open Day in conjunction with Longton Sports and Social club will be held on Sunday 20th June 2010, 11am - 4pm. As with last year, we will run a doubles tournament with each pair consisting of an adult and a junior. There will be trophies for the winners and runners-up. Please complete this form before the day to enter yourself in the tournament. Monkhouse will be coming along and they have tennis equipment and clothes for sale. Hope to see you then!
Coaching 2010
Unfortunately due to very limited interest in the coaching for this year, we will regrettably have had to cancel the five sessions that were planned this year. We hope to offer coaching in the future, but it depends on club members coming forward and signing up early on. If you are interested in coaching for next year, we need to know if there is any interest so please let us know. Unless we hear from club members, there will not be any coaching next year.
We would like to thank David Shaw for the many years of coaching and support he has given the club. We hope to be able to bring coaching back to the club very soon!
Subscriptions for the new 2010/11 season are now due
We have kept subscriptions for this coming season the same as last year. The new lock has been fitted to the gate and members will be issued with a new key on payment of their subscriptions.
On the playing side, the club is entering two mixed adult teams in the Ribble League and a men’s team in the Fylde League. We are keen to involve as many people as possible who would like to play team tennis. If you are a new or existing member interested in playing for any team please come along to the practice sessions on Thursday evenings from 6:00pm – or contact Alan Wilkinson or Chris Rodd.
One Under 14 and one Under 16 team is to be entered in the Ribble Junior League. Junior practice remains on Tuesdays, 6:30pm to 7:30pm starting Tuesday 27 April 2010 – Allison Moosa, our Junior Organiser, and Kate Kerr will be present to speak to parents to help with the Juniors.

From April 1st 2010, Allison Moosa has stepped down as club treasurer. Stewart Tipping will be her replacement - thank you Allison for all your hard work!

Please note an amendment to the tennis club rules (rule 8) has been agreed at the AGM. This is with effect from 1 April 2010.

Coaching Sessions 2010
Due to the bad weather, we had to postpone the final coaching session of 2009. This has been re-arranged for Wednesday 21st April 2010 - 6pm - 9.30pm
Further details on next years coaching (including times & prices) will be available in the new year, however we have confirmed the dates for next years coaching. These will take place on Wednesday 12th May, 19th May, 26th May, 9th June & 16th June 2010.
We still have in stock the official club polo shirt in white with the
Longton Tennis Club logo and sponsors name.
